Chesterfield striker Armand Gnanduillet has joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for a month.
The 22-year-old has found first team opportunities hard to come by this season and has spent much of the campaign on the substitutes bench.
The form of Eoin Doyle has also limited his chances of breaking in to the first 11 in Spireites boss Paul Cook’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.
Cook said: “We’ve got to make sure that Armand is getting minutes on the pitch, so we can see his career develop. He’s not developing with us - we’re just throwing him on for something to happen.
“These are the big decisions that I have to make. I’m sure I won’t keep every supporter happy with every decision but I’m doing this to get Armand minutes on the pitch.
“He goes into a competitive team to play, which is very important. It then allows me to bring in (Dan) Gardner, (Jay) O’Shea and (Ollie) Banks and I just hope our supporters stay with me through it.”
