Teenage winger Callum Greaves has joined the Chesterfield academy ranks from non-league Hallam.
Greaves, 17, joins the Spireites after scoring two goals this season in the Toolstation NCEL Division One.
Spireites academy manager Mark Smith said: “Callum is someone who is going to benefit the group. Playing for Hallam has given him exposure to playing against more experienced players so he’s going to be a little bit ahead of the others in that respect.”
Hallam manager Ryan Hindley commented: “He has scored two or three important goals for us and he looks like a man in a 17-year-old’s body. He will tackle, he is strong in the air and he will finish. What more do people want?
“I believe he will go and make a career out of football. He has had rejection at Scunthorpe and I don’t think he wants that again.”
