Chesterfield academy manager Mark Smith has taken temporary charge of the first team at the Proact, after the sacking of Dean Saunders.
Smith will be assisted by goalkeeping coach Mark Crossley and director of player recruitment Paul Mitchell.
Saunders was shown the door after Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat by Swindon Town.
The club have stated that they’re in no rush to appoint a permanent successor.
Caretaker boss Smith had a spell as assistant manager at Notts County, working with Sam Allardyce, and has held senior academy roles at Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Barnsley, after a playing career that took him to Hillsborough, Oakwell and saw him capped at Under 21 level by England.
He came to the Proact in 2013 as a youth coach.
