Chesterfield FC midfielder Mark Randall could be out for up to six weeks after breaking a bone in his left hand.
The injury occurred during last week’s Central League Cup game victory at Port Vale, which Chesterfield won 3-1.
Randall (pictured) is having an operation this week to fix the fractured metacarpal as an aid to a speedier recovery.
The incident during the game occurred during an innocuous looking tackle when an opposition player landed on Randall’s hand.
Randall, 22, is a product of Arsenal’s youth academy and had loan spells for Burnley, MK Dons and Rotherham United, before joining Chesterfield during the summer.
