Richard Nichols says football is his ‘passion’ and his new role at the Proact is one he’s been striving for all his career.
The Hull City fan once had his own firm supplying football kits to junior teams and moved to Town from Scunthorpe United.
He said: “I previously worked at Hull FC Superleague club but football has always been my passion.
“This is the role I’ve been striving towards, at Scunthorpe I wanted to be in a head of commercial role.
“I’m very fortunate Chesterfield have backed me.”
Nichols introduced himself to supporters with an article in the club’s programme and hopes to become acquainted with as many regulars as possible.
“In the first programme my mugshot was in there, massive. That was my idea, because I needed people to know who I was,” he said.
“I’m really looking forard to meeting more fans and businesses.”
