Chesterfield FC have signed West Bromwich Albion defender James Hurst on loan until the end of the season.
The highly-regarded 19-year-old right full-back penned a long-term contract with the Baggies last season, and has had loan spells this term at Blackpool and Shrewsbury Town.
After progressing through West Brom’s Academy he joined Portsmouth, who beat Arsenal, Manchester United and Aston Villa for his signature.
After a loan spell with Icelandic side IBV he returned to The Hawthorns in the summer of 2010 and made his first-team debut last season.
He is an England Youth International and has already played at the B2net Stadium in the U19 International between England and Germany in February 2011.
As the deal is classed at a youth loan, Hurst can be recalled by Albion after the first 28 days of his time at the B2net Stadium.
He is expected to go straight into the squad for the Spireites away game at Leyton Orient on Saturday.
