Evans to make first Proact appearance tonight for Nicholson's testimonial

Ched Evans will make his first appearance at the Proact tonight when Chesterfield take on Championship side Derby County.

The match will act as a testimonial for Shane Nicholson who played for both clubs.

‘Shinner’ is to get a 20-minute run out towards the end of the match as a farewell to both sets of supporters.

The left-back had two stints as a Spireite and spent four years with the Rams.

His playing days ended when he took a job as a fitness coach at Chesterfield, but departed last summer.

Tonight’s game is also a chance for the majority of Spireites fans to get a first glimpse of recent signing Evans in action.

The Welsh striker played for the club for the first time away at Ilkeston on Saturday, scoring a header in the 3-0 victory.

Kick-off at the Proact is 7.30pm.
