Two of Chesterfield FC’s influential players have now signed new deals with the Spireites.
Winger turned defender Drew Talbot and midfielder Mark Allott - who were both out of contract - have signed new two-year contracts with the League Two champions, which will keep them at the B2net Stadium until June 2013.
Meanwhile, Dean Morgan has also signed a new one-year deal with the Spireites.
Talbot (pictured) was voted players’ player of the year by his colleagues for his influential contribution during the championship-winning season.
Allott has also played his part with his steadying influence in midfield.
Talbot said: “I had no hesitation is signing a new contract as I am happy and settled here and in some ways it would have been difficult to leave because Chesterfield took a chance on me after I had been troubled with injuries.
“This last season I have played almost all games and have been virtually injury-free so from my point of view it’s been a great season, and I am really looking forward to the challenge of playing in a new division next season.”
Allott, who recently reached a milestone 300 league appearances for Chesterfield, said: “I am delighted to be able to continue my career with Chesterfield as I am really enjoying my football here and we have also had a great season with more to look forward to in the future.”
Offers to nine other players have also been made and their responses awaited.
