Chesterfield will be forced to make at least two changes to their side for this afternoon’s trip to Port Vale.
Jay O’Shea (groin) and Romy Boco (cheekbone) will both be missing from the side that drew at Fleetwood Town last week.
And Dan Gardner, who had a hernia operation yesterday, will be missing from the squad.
Armand Gnanduillet and Daniel Johnson are in pole position to come in to the starting eleven.
Paul Cook has added to his squad, signing 19 year old flying winger Gboly Ariyibi after his release by Leeds United. Formerly of Southampton, in the same cohort as Luke Shaw, he made a couple of sub appearances for Leeds in the Championship and also appeared in a short loan spell at Tranmere Rovers.
Cook said: “He’s a young lad who has got the potential to go on and do really, really well. I’m sure our supporters will view him as a very exciting young talent.” Ariyibi is likely to start on the bench.
Vale are likely to include ex Blades starlet Jordan Slew in their squad after he joined on loan from Blackburn Rovers.
