Chesterfield 2- 1 Rochdale

Chesterfield kept their League One survival hopes alive with an impressive third win in a row.

The Spireites condemned fellow strugglers Rochdale to the drop with a vital 2-1 win at the B2Net Stadium.

The match was a relegation dogfight with both sides knowing that a loss would see them playing in League Two next season.

And it was the visitors who took the lead through Jean Louis Akpa Akpro.

But Chesterfield stormed back and sub Scott Bowery prodded homew to level the score on 88 minutes.

Five minutes later Franck Moussa’s shot hit the bar and Danny Whittaker pounced on the rebound to give Chesterfield the victory and three precious points.
