Chesterfield have completed the signing of Sam Clucas from Mansfield Town on a two and a half year contract.
Winger Clucas made the short switch up the A617 after an undisclosed fee was agreed between the two clubs.
The Spireites had a bid for the 23-year-old rejected last week. It is understood the Stags opted to accept a fresh offer after Clucas made it clear he would not be signing a new contract at Field Mill.
Clucas was Mansfield’s top scorer last season with 13 goals in League Two.
He started his career at hometown club Lincoln City before joining Hereford in the Conference in 2011.
Mansfield snapped him up last year after winning promotion to the Football League. He was in the final year of his contract with the club,
