Chesterfield boss Paul Cook has praised the club’s support so far this season and urged fans to ramp up the volume at the Proact Stadium.

The Spireites entertain Oldham Athletic tomorrow (Saturday) in a game which sees two of League One’s in-form teams go head-to-head.

Cook’s side sit sixth in the division after an encouraging start, which has seen victories over Rochdale, Scunthorpe United and Sheffield United on home soil.

He said: “Our support this season, both home and away, has been nothing less than superb. We are playing exciting, free-flowing football and fans appreciate that.

“We are creating plenty of goalscoring chances, as illustrated by the fact that Eoin Doyle is the leading scorer in English football with 14 goals.

“The support we receive really does make a difference and I would urge anyone who has not been to the Proact so far this season to get to a match.

“It makes for a great atmosphere when we have a good crowd so let’s pack the Proact!”
