Chesterfield FC have confirmed that striker Jordan Bowery has moved to Premiership club Aston Villa.
Although the fee is undisclosed, it is thought that the Birmingham-based club has paid £500,000 for the 21-year-old.
Chesterfield chief executive, Chris Turner said: “This represents a good deal for Chesterfield and the money we have received will allow for some movement in the transfer market.”
Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Giles Coke is on the radar, as is Franck Moussa who had a spell on loan with the Spireites last season.
The Belgian-born former Leicester City midfielder, aged 23, scored four goals during his time with Chesterfield and he is currently a free agent after training pre-season with Nottigham Forest.
