Chesterfield 1, Tranmere Rovers 2
Tranmere substitute Abdulai Bell-Baggie broke Chesterfield hearts with a goal deep into the second period of extra time in the first round of the Capital One Cup at the Proact Stadium.
Two minutes into added time right at the death, Bell-Baggie swept into the area and beat Tommy Lee with a shot into the roof of the net to make it 2-1.
The two teams could not be separated by 90 minutes play and three minutes into the first period of extra time, Cole Stockton netted from close range to give Rovers the advantage.
But Jack Lester levelled matters with a delicate chip in the 108th minute.
It looked like penalties were looming, but Bell-Baggie had the last word as Chesterfield were knocked out at the first hurdle.
