Bradwell Sports Club are gearing up for this year’s Festival of Football, which takes place next month.

This year the Festival will be held on Sunday, July 5 at Bradwell Sports Pavilion (11am -6pm).

The annual event celebrates the success of the club’s junior and senior football teams during the season.

Claire Brown, from Bradwell Sports Club, said: “We welcome everyone to come and take part or spectate in particular any past players and their families who have been involved in local football.

“In previous years the event has been a great opportunity for many people to catch up with past adversaries on the pitch.

“This year Bradwell Sports FC has again won the Hope Valley League Treble of League, Lawrence Cup and the Dore Shield.

“The Bradwell Rovers Junior under-8s have won both their winter and summer tournaments in the Derwent Valley Junior Football League.

“Two Bradwell Rovers Players have won the League Player of the Year award; Daniel Ward for under-14s and Harry Thompson for the under-12s.

“The Festival will include junior football skill sessions run by qualified coaches in the morning followed by tournaments for each age group in the afternoon, (U8, 10,12,14,16 & seniors).

“The event is free to all and our thanks go to Mr Carpet for sponsoring this event.

“There will be a bar and barbecue along with draws and tombolas taking place.”

To register for the junior skills session or to enter a team in either junior or senior tournaments or for further information please ring 07967991265 or email your interest to bradwellsports@yahoo.co.uk

Claire added: “Our festivals are about giving something back to our communities not just in the fun we have but we are sure the children who take part in this morning’s coaching sessions will gain some skills which will benefit their clubs in the future.”
