Alfreton Town goalkeeper Matt Duke has been named Vanarama National League North Player of the Month for February.

Duke has been part of the Reds team that went on an impressive unbeaten run that stretched 13 games before it was ended this week.

The run began before Christmas and included wins at AFC Fylde and FC United of Manchester before it came to an end at home to bottom-of-the-table AFC Telford United.

Duke said: “I am delighted. It is always nice to get selected for a player of the month award.

“It has been a good month for the club as well. We have been in decent form and I am pleased to have played my part in it but it is credit to everybody for the run we have been on.”
