Maddie Thompson has helped helped the GB women’s basketball team reach the quarter-finals at the London Paralympics.

The women are set to face Germany tomorrow after suffering three losses in their group games and they will be keeping their fingers crossed now that the round-robin stage of the competition gives way to the knock-out stage.

Maddie, 17, from Hope Valley, is a the youngest member of the team which finished fourth in Group A following a 42-37 victory over Brazil and losses to Netherlands, Australia and Canada.

Germany finished top of Group B after four victories.
