Latest from the High Peak Netball League.
The first game of the evening was the B Division clash between Lasses and Violets.
This was a close-fought game with some good netball from both teams, with both Lauren Drabble making some decisive interceptions for Lasses as they went in at the break tied at 8-8.
The second half continued at the same pace, but this time Lasses managed to edge ahead and were the eventual winners, 17-13.
The next B Division game was between Chinley A and Leftovers.
Both teams battled hard and Freya Priestly at centre for Leftovers fed her shooters well.
At the break Chinley led 12-7, and that form continued after the interval with Hayley Lever on the attack as Chinley ran out 17-13 winners.
In the A Division Ladybugs entertained Cobras and both teams set off well, but few goals were scored despite some good netball from Charlotte Tait-Mellor at goal shooter for Cobras.
The second half continued at the same pace with good netball but again the scoring low.
Kerri Flower for Ladybugs controlled her defence and helped her team to a narrow 7-5 victory.
Also in the top league, Nouveaux against Glossop saw Ruth Sampson shooting well to help the former to a 12-6 lead.
In the second half Glossop had stepped up a gear and with Katie Amps making some good interceptions it looked like they would catch up with Nouveaux, but they couldn’t quite pull level as they went down 20-17.
Finally, in the C Division Kraken recorded the biggest win of the evening as they easily overcame Seconds 22-4.
