Youngsters at Pilsley Cricket Club were bowled over to receive a cheque for £250 from Derbyshire county councillor Kevin Gillott.
The grant, from his community leadership funding, was presented to the young players during a recent training evening.
Head coach Andrew Cooper, pictured receiving the cheque from councillor Gillott, said: “The cash will help with the club’s junior winter training programme as we continue to develop youngsters, to be Pilsley’s cricketers of the future.
“The club operates both an under-15s and an under-13s team and are always willing to welcome new members.”
Councillor Gillott added: “The club are a credit to the village and I’m pleased to have been able to help.”
