Chesterfield and District Midweek League are celebrating another year of cricket in the area.
Andy Horton, owner of league sponsor InkXtra, and John Bridgett, a committee member, were pictured outside the shop on West Bars in Chesterfield.
Mr Horton has played cricket since the early 1980s and first represented British Telecom in what was then the Chesterfield and District Midweek Works League before he joined Royal Mail.
When he left in 2004 he went to play for Calow where he has played for the last nine years and currently takes to the field for Holmewood.
Since the demise of a lot of local firms it was decided to throw the league open to cricket clubs in the area to keep the competition running.
When the league was thrown open to all clubs John joined the League playing for Dronfield Woodhouse in 1999 Recently he joined the committee taking an active roll. Anyone interested in joining the league for the 2015 season please contact Malcolm Clark on (01246) 852071.
