Chapel-en-le-Frith Cricket Club will honour one of its former members with a special plaque this weekend.
Bryan Cooper, a devoted and dedicated servant of the club, passed away earlier this year aged 89.
Bryan served the club for over 60 years as a player, committee member and president.
A club statement read: “Brian was a tireless worker for the club and was latterly one of its trustees.
“Indeed he was heavily involved in the construction of the club’s pavilion, where the plaque will be located.”
In addition Bryan was an umpire in the Derbyshire & Cheshire league as well as serving the League for many years on the management committee.
The plaque will be unveiled before the start of the Hawke Trophy final between Hawk Green and Old Glossop on Sunday (2pm), which this year is being held at Chapel.
