MANSFIELD LEAGUE ROUND-UP: leaders Eckington hammer mammoth total of 404

A mammoth total of 404-7 demolished Cuckney and strengthened Eckington's challenge for the Mansfield and District Sunday League, Premier Section title.

Although there were no individual centurions, the tabletoppers piled up the runs at a rate of ten an over before dismissing the visitors for just 52 in a remarkable 352-run success.

Eckington now head the table by 18 points from Hucknall, who won by seven wickets at fellow high-fliers Grassmoor after Pete Hudson’s 76 helped them successfuly chase down a modest target of 121.

Section One is still headed by Handsworth after a 37-run triumph over Kirkby Portland, while Morton top Section Two after a six-wicket win at bottom-of-the-table Creswell.
