In this week’s Peak Performers, Hollinsend sent back bottom team Ashford for 79 in Division One, (A Yarwood 42no R Sharp 6-29) and then duly won by nine wickets (C Jones 49no).
Holmesfield made just 107-7, but then dismissed Stocksbridge for 96 and move up to third. Apperknowle hit a useful 191-9 (J Bagley 45 A Nazir 3-36), Sheffield University Staff chased down the score, losing just 3 on the way (S Shibly 88).
Division Two: Totley’s assault on the title gathers pace. They hit up an impressive 221 all out (K Javed 77 G Mohammed 46), then sent back promotion contenders Hathersage for 148 (J Khan 5-26).
Calver made 157 all out, then thrillingly bowled out promotion seeking Hundall for 150 (D Howie 4-25). Hallam III made just 131, but then sent back Baslow for 91.
The upshot of these results see Hallam jump clear of the chasing pack to move second behind Totley. In the basement battle, Grindleford scored 152-9 (S West 93) and terminated University Staff IIs innings at 77 all out.
Division Three: Bakewell, with their refreshing mix of youth and experience, remain well up with the leaders. They dismissed De La Salle II for 130 and claimed a six wicket triumph.
Division Four: Kamran Ditta (5-25) skittled bottom side Baslow II for just 94 before Centralians II went on to record a four wicket win.
Division Five: Apperknowle II came out in charge in the battle of the top two. They recorded 158-9 (Martin Chedgey 43 Ricky Podmore 4-44) on the road at Youlgrave Lodge, who fell for 92 to the spin of Louis Wilson (4-15).
Tideswell and Norton Woodseats was forfeited by Woodseats.
Division Six: Chesterfield III came out in another battle of the top two. David Adams scored another century, amassing 117 in Chesterfield’s 240-5 as Buxton replied with a creditable 151-9 (Marsden 59). Third placed Hallam V suffered a defeat at the hands of Hathersage II. The ‘Sage piled up a useful 160-8 (A Holtum 71) and restricted Hallam V to 142.
