Staveley maintained their push for the Northern Counties East Division One title with this victory over Hemsworth.

Ryan Damms, with his 31st of the campaign, gave them a third-minute lead with an audacious back heel but Hemsworth levelled before the break.

The winning goal came in the second-half from Andrew Fox who pounced after a shot from Tom Jones rebounded off a post.

It was Fox’s 13th goal of the season

Welfare, who were eight points clear at the top before they were due to meet Appleby Frodingham away last night, travel to Askern Villa on Saturday.

Woolley Moor Utd 2

A bad week for Woolley started on Tuesday night when they were knocked out of the MRA Junior Cup at the semi-final stage by Belper United Reserves.

On Saturday they were defeated in the quarter-finals of the Challenege Cup by Division One outfit Derby Royals.

Scorers for Woolley were Brett Turner and Phil Mauer.

Man of the match was Mark Taylor

On Saturday, Woolley face Punjab Utd Reserves away in the MRA Second Division.
