Chesterfield College’s commitment to the Olympic values has seen it welcomed into the London 2012 Get Set network.
And the college will now be eligible to receive an allocation of tickets for the Olympic and Paralympic Games through the London 2012 Ticketshare initiative.
Sports staff and students celebrated the good news with one of their many sports club partners, Wingerworth Fencing Club, which holds classes at the college’s Clowne campus every Monday evening.
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games has awarded the college a plaque and certificate to acknowledge its hard work in promoting Olympic and Paralympic values across the community.
Games chief Lord Seb Coe said: “I am proud to welcome Chesterfield College into the Get Set network for their work around the Olympic values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic values of inspiration, courage, determination and equality.”
