For the second time in three seasons, Brampton Manor Squash and Racketball Club have captured a league and cup double.
The Chesterfield club were pushed all the way for both Derbyshire mens squash titles by rivals Duffield, who won the same double in 2011/12.
Just one point separated leaders Brampton Manor on 187 and Duffield (186) going into the final league matches of the season.
Both teams faced The Manor from Ilkeston in the last match which ultimately decided where the league trophy was heading this year.
Duffield played them first and ran out 3-2 winners, meaning Brampton Manor needed 16 points to claim the title when the teams met the following week.
Alex Cutts led from the front, followed by England junior Ashley Davies, team and county captain Phil Scully, Brendan Hickerman and over-35 Derbyshire captain Charlie Wall.
But the war wasn’t over and the two teams did battle once more for the Arthur Catherines Derbyshire Cup Final.
Brampton had a fortunate bye against Burton 2nds to book their place in the final, while Duffield beat Burton 1sts in their semi-final.
Davies, this time at number one, put up a spirited fight but was beaten 3-0 by professional Andy Whipp (9/11, 8/11, 11/13) and county under-19 junior Alex Wilson, who stepped in at the last minute, lost 3-0 to Sam Yallop.
Brampton were staring down the barrel of defeat when Wall and Hickerman levelled the tie before Scully completed a memorable comeback.
Other Brampton teams also finished the 2012-13 season on a high. The club’s racketball team were runners-up in both the National Knock Out Cup Plate Final and the Derbyshire Raccketball League.
