The Chesterfield Scarsdale Rotary Club held its annual fund raising golf day at Chesterfield Golf Club in aid of the hospice and other local charities.

The day was extremely successful and together with the raffle and auction raised £2,700

The winners were Darren Coop, Peter Howitt, Paul Redford and Ben Trueman, all members of the Chesterfield Club.

Placed second was a team put in by the owner of the Calabria restaurant and included the two Risorto boys Gianni and Fabio together with the chef and a customer.

Men’s midweek medal results.

Division 1: Robbie James with a nett 68, runner up Darren Coup 70 (Darren plays off +1). Division 2: Ben Brown with a nett 67, runner up Will Sharpe with a nett 70. Division 3: Richard Walker with a nett 63, runner up John Middleton with a nett 71.

Men’s Saturday medal results.

Division 1: Daniel Elliott with a nett 68, runner up Lyn Thomas with a nett 68 after a count back¸ 3rd Steve Gunn with a nett 69. Division 2: Brendan Lovelock with a nett 66, runner up Patrick Dunne with a nett 60, 3rd John Witham with a nett 70. Division 3: Terry Tustain with a nett 71, runner up Paul Redford with a nett 71, (on a count back), 3rd Dave Spanswick with a nett 73.

The Ladies Medal 11 and Breakthrough. a competition which raises money for breast cancer.

Silver Division:­ Jaci Elliott with a nett 74, runner up Sheila Gretton with a nett 75. Bronze Division Jane Holmes with a nett 72, runner up Anne Sturgeon with a nett 75.

Men’s invitation day saw a very big field starting at 7.30am with players starting every ten minutes until 3.30pm.

Winners were Glynn Wright and Mr Bolor, from Tapton, with 44 points, runner up was Lucas Davis and Mr Davis, from Matlock, with 43 points.
