Captain Matt is in the winning habit as club’s season draws to a close

Cavendish Golf Club celebrated its end of seaon recently, with Junior Captain Matt Lomas amongst the winners.

Lomas capped off a fine season when he and uncle Andrew Smith won the foursomes knock-out event, defeating Neil Booth and John Worsley in the final.

Elsewhere, the fourball went to George Bloor and Ben Minshull, with John Lomas and Mick Wain finishing a close second.

The Mixed Foursomes was won by Andy Peters and Fiona Heathcote. Mike Higgins and Maxine Chuwen were runners-up.

The singles competition saw Malc Forder scoop top prize, with George Bloor and Alan Doig having to make do with second and third place respectively.

Two gents 4am events were recently held, meanwhile, with prizes going down to fifth place.

The August event saw a Cavendish/Wolstanton team collect top spot.

The team, comprising of Steve Bell, Jacob Bagshaw, Malcolm Cartwright and D Wood, scored 91 points to cruise to victory.

The September event produced an equally-high score of 91 from a Wychwood Park team who secured the win.
