Young Arrows finally blown away

Despite good scoring efforts from Matt Wilson with 20 and Denis Scott with 17, the younger Arrows side struggled with the aggression and strength shown by the Hoods.

The Hoods raced into a 9-2 lead but Wilson replied for the Arrows with eight points and they trailed 21-16 as the first quarter closed.

In the second quarter, baskets from Johnny Broodie and Paul Heymann kept the Arrows in contention at 44-32 at the interval.

But in the third quarter the Hoods played glorious basketball that put the youthful Arrows to the sword 28-6 as they were eventually blown away.

The Arrows, led by Scott’s 13 points, responded with a run of their own in the final quarter.

Aidan Dennison also excelled for the Arrows to help narrow the final margin of defeat to 18 points.

Their scorers were: Matt Wilson 20, Denis Scott 17, Johnny Broodie 6, Andreas Lycoudis 6, Aidan Dennison 5, Joseph Baugh 4, Paul Heymann 4 and Napthali Nembhard 2.
