Killamarsh Arrows recorded their fifth win of the season but once again needed overtime to do so before beating Eastside Eagles by 85-79.

All five of their wins this season have been by six points or less and this followed their recent defeat to Ipswich after three periods of overtime.

Darren Best continues to show his quality. He led all scorers with 31 points well supported by Joseph Baugh 12 and James Kelly’s 10.

The north Derbyshire side began impressively against an Eagles team that seemed tired from their journey.

Arrows reached the interval ahead 41-35.

Eastside began to find form with a strong defence and accurate fast breaks to swing the game in their favour.

Arrows left it late, but they began to pick up when Best began to make headway, well supported by the hardworking Baugh. It was all square at 74-74 on the buzzer before Arrows held their nerve in overtime as the Eagles began to fade.

The win keeps alive their faint hopes of reaching the end of season play-offs.
