Banton first back for Clowne in coastal run

Clowne Road Runners travelled north for the popular Northumberland Coastal Run which sees over 1,000 runners setting off from the beach at Beadnell Bay, making their way 14 miles down the coastline to Alnmouth.

First home for the club and finishing in eighth position was Lewis Banton with a time of 1:21:51 followed by Paul Sadler 1:41:24, Chris Lane 1:43:29, Adrian Kirkham 1:48:27, Louise Lowe, 1:48:55, Neil Inns 1:53:13, Sam Coleclough 2:09:47, Gillian Carter 2:13:42 and Angela Kirkham 2:36:17.

Elsewhere club members have been busy competing in local events including the Peak Forest Fell Race; the latest race on the clubs Grand Prix calendar. Chris Lane finished in 52:48 followed by Paul Sadler 55:46, Steve Hattersley 58:05, Louise Lowe 59:59, Karen Shipman 1:00:50, Lynn Hazelton 1:13:17 and Graham Sheen 1:17:25.

Steve Hattersley completed the Doncaster 5k in a time of 20:51 closely followed by Gemma Scougal in 21:02 and Helen Worsfold in 25:03. Louise Lowe finished in 16th place in the Crich Monument race with a time of 59:01.

Clowne Road Runners at the Notts five mile road race with Peter Twigg finishing in 18th position with a new PB in 29:58 followed by Louise Lowe 32:37 (2nd Female), Mark Baldwin 34:48 (PB and Bronze club standard), David Hazelton 34:55, Gemma Scougal 37:48, Jackie Robson 38:30, Karen Shipman 38:37, Suzanne Leusby 41:18 and Andrea Walker 42:54.
