Steve battles through flash flooding in France

Clowne Road Runner Steve Battle overcame flash flooding to record a personal best (PB) at a six-day championship event in Privas, France.

Battle, who ran a total of 367.5 miles despite flooding on the first three days, was 27th.

Darren King achieved a new PB for the Snowdonia Marathon, claiming fourth in 2:46:14. Louise Lowe finished in 4:09:11.

At the club’s latest Grand Prix at the Worksop Half Marathon, first home for Clowne was Marc Waddingham, 23rd in 1:20:07. followed by Paul Sadler 1:31:33, Chris Lane 1:32:18 (PB), David Leese 1:35:39, Malc Stapleton 1:36:45, Adrian Webster 1:44:12, Jackie Robson 1:46:51, David Elsom 1:46:53, Karen Shipman 1:47:39, Steve Hattersley 1:55:32, Heather Brennan 2:06:54, Graham Sheen 2:13:36 and Lynn Hazelton 2:22:39.

John Ashmore (48:30)and Paul Summerly (53:29) ran the Jane Tomlinson 10k in Sheffield.
