1. 1988 FA Cup Final - Liverpool 0-1 Wimbledon

John Kear’s group brought glory to South Yorkshire on a sunny May afternoon at Wembley, toppling the eventual Super League champions 17-8 to lift the trophy for the first time.

4. 2015 US Open Women’s semi-final

The dominant face of women’s tennis, Serena Williams was just two wins away from completing the calendar Grand Slam.

However, the 33-year-old unexpectedly lost 2-6 6-4 6-4 to unseeded Italian Roberta Vinci in the last four to wreck her hopes of the historic feat.

It was Williams’ first defeat after a 33-game winning streak in Grand Slams.

5. 2015 Rugby World Cup - Japan 34-32 South Africa

Arguably the biggest shock the sport has ever seen, Japan pulled off a sensational victory against the Springboks.

Karne Hesketh crossed in the final minute to win an incredible World Cup Pool B encounter in Brighton.

Japan had not won a World Cup game since 1991, while South Africa were world champions in both 1995 and 2007.

6. 1985 World Snooker Championship Final

Dennis Taylor and Steve Davis have each told the story countless times but it never gets old.

Even now the footage is still as nerve-wracking as it was back in April 1985.

Taylor won the tournament thanks to a tense last-frame shootout forever known as the black ball final.

8. FA Cup Third Round 1992 - Wrexham 2-1 Arsenal

Fourth Division side Wrexham and First Division Arsenal, who had been crowned Champions the previous season, met in the third round of the FA Cup.

Wrexham came from behind to win 2-1 with both their goals scored in the final eight minutes of the match and just two minutes apart.

The match has been described as one of the greatest FA Cup giant-killings of all time.

9. World Heavyweight Championship 1990

When undefeated Mike Tyson took to the ring to face Buster Douglas, few gave any hope whatsoever to the challenger.

However, what unfolded in the Tokyo Dome on that February night shocked the sport.
