OPEN DAY: Hathersage Fire Station will be holding an open day on Sunday, July 12, aimed at promoting fire safety within the community whilst also raising money for the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund.

There will be a wide range of events throughout the day — the station will be open from noon to 5pm — which will include demonstrations on dealing with a road traffic collision and chip pan fire as well as one using the station's aerial ladder.

Representatives from Edale Mountain Rescue Team and Derbyshire Constabulary are also expected to attend the event.
