EDALE mountain rescue team has been given a funding boost by members of Hope Valley Rotary Club in recognition of the dedicated search and rescue service it provides in the Peak and surrounding area.
A cheque for £1600 was presented to the team's vice-chairman, Neil Roden, by Rotary president John Wood.

Mr Roden said that the money would help fund the team's work and assist in the training of volunteers.

Said Rtn Wood: "Local Rotarians are well aware of the magnificent work done by Edale mountain rescue team and want to help them continue the superb service they provide for people whose walking and sporting activities bring them into our part of the world."

The Edale team is involved with over 100 rescues every year.

Proceeds from a jazz evening with Manchester jazz legend Mart Rodger and his band in Calver Village Hall on October 18 will also be donated to the rescue team.0
