Shoppers are being encouraged to learn more about healthy hearts and sign up to a High Peak walk to raise money for charity.
Matlock Sainsbury's is supporting the British Heart Foundation's High Peak Trail Winter Challenge Walk by inviting customers to register at their store tomorrow and Saturday.
Manager Nick Hawkins, whose father died of a heart attack, has taken part in the event for the past three years and is urging his staff and customers to sign up for the walk, which takes place on November 23.
Nick said: "I have a strong understanding of the dangers of heart disease and the misery it inflicts on patients and their families. I lost my father, Clifford, in 2003 aged 59 to a heart attack.
"This is an exciting event and is raising funds for a very worthy cause and we are delighted to be supporting the British Heart Foundation. It encourage as many people as possible to sign up to the event as it is such a great day out."
Last year, the 17-mile hike through the Peak District raised over £88,000 to fund further research into the causes, prevention and treatment of heart disease.
British Heart Foundation regional events organiser Jessica Storer said: "This is a fantastic walk which I guarantee will be a great experience and is suitable for anyone from young people to heart patients. The event is the BHF's biggest regional fundraising event and attracts over 1,400 walkers."
Entry is £5 if you pre-register and registration on the day is £15. To register visit www.bhf.org.uk/highpeak, call 0800 085 2280, or email northevents@bhf.org.uk.
