Pub landlords are being warned to check their licence agreements after spot checks were carried out by police.
Warning notices were issued to pubs in Matlock during the operation which was carried out by officers with the help of Derbyshire Dales District Council environmental health staff.

The checks were carried out to see if landlords were meeting the terms of their licence. Warnings were given for issues such as not displaying correct notices or not ensuring customers left premises with respect for nearby residents.

Licensing officer Pc Sandra Bar-low said: "It's disappointing that some supervisors and licence holders are not aware of what their licence means and the regulations they have to meet. We would urge anyone unsure of what they need to do as part of their licence to contact their local licensing authority."

Spot checks are expected to continue until July 27.
