Climber falls

A climber was airlifted to hospital after falling 50ft during a climb in Stoney Middleton on Sunday.

The 31-year-old, from Eccles, near Manchester suffered broken legs, a broken arm and head injuries.

He was treated by Edale Mountain Rescue team and a paramedic before being taken by helicopter to Chesterfield Royal Hospital by the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance.

The incident happened at Horseshoe Quarry, at about 11.20am, on Sunday.
