I READ with interest your campaign for youth employment, but what about the other age range like me at 57 trying to find a job in Chesterfield.
I have tried and tried since being made redundant in 2003 and have worked in Leicester, Mansfield, Retford. I am now in Matlock. The rising cost of fuel takes so much of the pay packet these days, but hardly any firms in this area seem to be setting on.
The more CVs you send, the more you never get a reply either by email, post or telephone. Why not a campaign to get local people into local jobs?
I am a good worker with a good track record so why can’t I get a job in my home town? Is it the case of ageism again?
