Take problem seriously

Following on from my recent letter concerning bins blocking pavements, after residents fail to take them in after collection day, I am pleased to see you are publishing pictures of cars blocking the footways.

I have tried and tried to get someone in authority, in any authority, to take the problem of footways entirely blocked by a car seriously. Police do not want to know.

They seem to have no derstanding that the matter should be taken seriously (it is serious for a pedestrian to have to walk on the road to continue their journey, surely?).

I have even had to go out and measure how much pavement is left, before the call handler will action further attention.

Unfortunately, our policies are drawn up without consideration to pedestrians needs and largely people themselves reliant on driving with subsidised loans and mileage allowances.
