I have just been to my surgery, Castle Street Medical Centre to attend a meeting. As I was signing in two patients came in and asked for an appointment to see a doctor.
The receptionist gave them a choice of two slots in the afternoon. The patients asked if there were any other slots available, and they were given a slot the following afternoon which suited them better.
I am writing this because it struck me as remarkable given the perceived problems with obtaining an appointment with GPs that we were able to offer appointments that way. During the meeting,
I was told that our patient numbers are still steadily increasing, perhaps our ability to accommodate patients in this way has something to do with it.
