I EAGERLY awaited the re-opening of the town centre library, but was desperately disappointed to find that jigsaw puzzles are no longer available “because there is nowhere to put them,” an unbelievable excuse.
I know this facility was not part of the official library service, but it cost the council nothing as the puzzles were donated and it was very well used, mostly by pensioners. We were delighted to have a pleasurable recreation available when, for reasons of health or finance, we were limited in our opportunities.
I hope others will join me in appealing to the council to restore this service, as a gesture of goodwill to its senior citizens.
