RIGHT then folks – we’re well and truly into 2013 and the cobwebs built up over the festive period should have been well and truly blown off.
So now is the time to start thinking about doing something in 2013 that you can look back on and say – I’m proud of myself!
So this is a call to everyone – from local businesses who care, to individuals who want to make a difference – to please, please back our 25/25 Ashgate Hospice campaign.
The concept is simple: raise at least £25,000 for Ashgate Hospice, in this, its 25th anniversary year.
Ashgate Hospice has been caring for terminally ill people for the last quarter of a century. Now there will be those that feel uncomfortable with the wording, previously, but it’s an unavoidable fact of life, and death.
And the people who are on the front line, making Derbyshire people’s final moments as comfortable as they possibly can be, are the care staff – and they need your backing.
Only this week I met with a leading Chesterfield businessman who is keen to do his bit, and I’ve committed to giving him all the publicity his generosity deserves under the banner of the DT’s 25/25 campaign.
But can YOUR business pledge a donation to the hospice? Big or small, you will doing your bit (or lot) to ease the inevitable grief that the friends and families of Ashgate patients will face.
So without wanting to turn into Bob Geldof – give ‘em your money!
It can be a nominal amount from your penny jar, or a cheque from your savings account.
Or you can have a cake sale, a coffee morning, a car boot, a sponsored baked bean bath – ANYTHING to raise money, and we’ll be there to ensure the Derbyshire public sees how much you care, with videos, photos, articles – the whole shebang!
