LETTER: Why are down and outs not moved on?

Today there were three corners full of them, plus all their baggage. They were drinking alcohol and often swear and shout. Sometimes they sit on the bus stop seats that are meant for passengers waiting for the bus. They are intimidating, particularly to the elderly, and offensive.

It stresses me out to see them there every day when I’m on my way home from work.

Recently, there were many people on the number 74 bus and they were all asking why they were not moved on and were allowed to stay there.

It doesn’t give a good image of Chesterfield to anyone arriving at the bus station.

What we all need to know (we decent and law-abiding citizens of Chesterfield) is when is something going to be done about the situation?
