LETTER: Shocking behaviour on Chesterfield’s streets

Chesterfield Town Centre
Chesterfield Town Centre

Having been off work recently, I decided to walk in to the town centre daily for exercise.

I was completely shocked to see abusive shouting, offensive behaviour obviously fuelled by drugs from unemployed people coming in to the town.

All I could see was retired people feeling scared and intimidated by such gross activity around the library and shall I say the “Jeremy Kyle” precinct.

Then having sat down in the churchyard, all I could see was drug dealers supplying young men near the Crooked Spire entrance.

Having seen more traffic wardens than police over the past few weeks, isn’t it about time that this Labour/Liberal run council stood up to be counted?

I’m sure a lot of proud Chesterfieldians feel the same.
