LETTER: Sheffield can't keep own house in order

I feel I have to comment on the possibility of Chesterfield becoming part of Sheffield City Region.'¨I was born in Chesterfield but my parents moved to Sheffield when I was a baby. '¨My husband and I moved back to Chesterfield four years ago.

One of the reasons being the state of Sheffield and the money I feel the council wasted - and I used to work for the council.

The state of the roads are a disgrace even though they are doing them up. They do a road at the east of the city then come to the west and so on instead of doing a complete area.
The Moor is an utter disgrace and more like a bomb site and will get worse, even though a new Primark is being built. They are now to pull down Grosvenor House Hotel so more mess and dirt around.

The Sevenstone project for the city centre is still not sorted.
I can assure you if Chesterfield was part of Sheffield now, the Waterside project would not be started. Chesterfield would get nothing from Sheffield as they can’t keep their own house in order.
DCC has had to make cutbacks like all other councils due to the money wasted by Labour under Blair and Brown.
Keep Chesterfield as it is.
