LETTER: Make changes and end political correctness

We now see the American President-elect intimating he would like Nigel Farage appointed as the UK representative in Washington.

If we look at the facts, Mr Farage does have an enormous following. He spearheaded a very effective campaign in the UK. This was reflected by 51.9 per cent of the population voting to leave the EU. I believe he alone forced David Cameron’s hand in promoting the EU referendum. We all know where that road led and in turn the result encouraged our American friends to dare to change their stagnant political system.

Americans I have spoken to recently feel Obama has been a great disappointment and is the worst president since the days of Jimmy Carter. His record on employment is abysmal. One said he “talks the talk, but his walk has not yet started!”

It is apparent his office attracts the elite of actors and the giants of the musical world. People who have done well in their own tight knit society. Trump did not use superficial heroes in his campaign but he did use the expertise of Nigel Farage. Now the White House can be of service to the “common man” and work for the reunification of inherent skills available to make America a self sufficient country, not one dependant on cheap imports.

The British government is in a dilemma with regard to the special and unique relationship Mr Farage enjoys with Donald Trump. Make no mistake that relationship could, and I believe would, be beneficial to our United Kingdom. Many elected persons will disagree but all would have to agree unanimously that present politicians have not been successful with our own unemployment situation and the terrible and unnecessary times experienced by Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is time for change and it is also time to end complacency and political correctness. We must replace them with hard working politicians who are true to their constituents and get rid of human rights legislation that defends those who would change our way of life by means of terror-related activities.

It is now time to deal with the cause of all our problems instead of attempting to ‘pussy foot’ around the symptoms.

Tony Blair and Gordon Brown — take note of what the people you betrayed now require.
