LETTER: I will help parking fine motorists

Further to your article on the lay-by near the Royal Hospital (Motorists hit by '˜illegal' lay-by fines, Derbyshire Times, May 18), I would be pleased to support anyone who would like to contest their penalty charge notice at that site and who would like documents of evidence to support their actions against the council and parking operators.

I do not believe the site has been legal since the start of parking operations and deployment of yellow lines.

I believe that even the PCNs do not conform to the regulations required in the council’s own document ‘parksmarter’.
