In response to Kenneth Biggs letter last week (‘Too old to get a job?’, Times talk, November 17), I have to agree with him.
I have been out of work for 15 months and have had no luck with getting a job.
This my second bout of unemployment and truly believe that Chesterfield employers are ageist. I no longer sign on at the Job Centre because I am not getting any benefits and they told me “there is nothing they can do for me as I can job search at home.” When are we going to be given a chance?
As it is most likely that I will not now get my pension until I am 66, joy of joys, ten years before I get any money I can call my own.
