Fix it or pay compensation: Bolsover’s road to hell

There is a road in Bolsover Market Place, where to drive over it makes your heart race.

The pot holes are spread wide and far, it’s no fun when driving your car.

To get a new road surface is my pursuit, not have a surface more suited to Beirut.

This road is the main access to the Castle, why should visitors put up with the hassle...

...of having their vehicles bounced around, when driving over this uneven ground.

A local businessman is fed up with the thing, and has put in a claim for a broken spring...

...on his vehicle that he uses for his trade, I wonder how many more claims will be made...

...before those in Matlock’s ivory towers, come out to Bolsover to smell the flowers?

To see for themselves the state of play, if that was to happen,it would make my day.

They should send a man with a pencil and a map, or even a computer to put on his lap...

...to count the potholes, draw up a plan, then the council can repair it as fast as they can.

In November they will need a fleet, of ambulances to treat the broken feet...

...of people marching to the Cenotaph, if it wasn’t so serious you’d have to laugh.

So come on Derbyshire County Council, repair this road...

...because I won’t stop until a surface is laid, new and pristine...

...then it will be easier to keep it clean, and everyone can sleep easy at night because Derbyshire County Council have put it right.
